The law protects the psychotherapeutic relationship and information pertaining to you remains confidential in the consulting room just as it does in other health care settings. Consequently information about you or your treatment cannot be disclosed without your written permission.
Notable exceptions include emergencies such as:
- Suspected child, dependant adult or elder abuse.
- Imminent threats of significant harm to one's self, another person, group of people or property.
