Feelings of sadness and anxiety are common responses to the pressure of life’s demands. However, when these feelings become so intense that they disrupt our routines and the quality of our lives it may be time to speak with a therapist.

Everyone deserves compassion and the opportunity to live a life filled with meaning. If you're feeling worried or hopeless, you’re not alone. Anxiety and depression are treatable, and the feelings that come along with them don’t have to last forever.

My approach to anxiety and depression counseling is supportive, engaged and highly personalized. My goal is to create a comfortable environment that facilitates introspection and growth. Together, we’ll develop tools and strategies to bring you symptom relief and to allow you to create new opportunities for more hope-filled living.

Please call or email me for an anxiety or depression counseling consultation today. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions from my Flatiron office in NYC.

What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is our body’s response to too much stress. That nervous feeling before an important life event or when walking into a tense situation is normal. It's a communication from yourself to yourself that there is something important going on that requires attention.

Sometimes people experience feelings of anxiety that feel out of proportion to actual events, that go on for too long or that develop into physical symptoms. When these thoughts or feelings begin to negatively impact your ability to make decisions and constrict your functioning and daily life, it may be time to ask a professional for help.

How Do I Know If I Have Anxiety?

There are many different types of anxiety, including generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, separation anxiety, phobias, and more. The symptoms of anxiety can vary in severity depending on the person who is experiencing it, but common signs include:

What is Depression?

Most people feel sad or depressed at times. If feelings of sadness do not resolve on their own and they have a negative impact on how you feel, think and act, it may be a sign of depression.
